Aerobatic Clinic and the Spektrum Aerobatic Challenge 2009

For the last 2 years I have had the pleasure of running a one day aerobatic clinic. This year though we have gone on step further!

Saturday 30th May 2009

The day begins with tea and coffee along with some friendly banter, it’s the perfect ice breaker. The session then covers the theory of aerobatic flight: how to read Aresti diagrams, trimming for aerobatics, getting the most out of practice and simulators, aircraft setup and best practice, how to fly the Basic and Sportsman Aerobatic challenge and finally coaching, display and narrated flights.

The aim of the Aerobatic clinic is to provide the knowledge and hopefully the incentive to quickly develop the pilot’s skills and allow them to successfully compete in a competition two weeks later.

Sunday 14th June 2009

The Spektrum Aerobatic Challenge will be split into two categories.
Basic is the entry level for anyone that has passed their ‘A’ test and is looking for a challenge. This is flown as individual manoeuvre with the pilots helper calling begin and end, this means that the pilot has time to relax whist they line up for the next manoeuvre.
The Sportsman is flown as a proper schedule and is aimed at pilots with or aiming for a ‘B’ certificate.

RC Model World will be in attendance to cover both events and along with a BBQ and refreshments this should make a memorable experience.
And did I mention the prizes...?

I hope that you will be able to attend and look forward to seeing you soon.

Kind Regards

Steve Mallinder

Intro to the Club
Nottingham Radio Control Society is a club dedicated to the building and flying of radio controlled model aircraft.
We are an affiliated club of the British Model Flying Association, (BMFA) and our flying site is at the southern end of Langar airfield on the Notts and Leics border.
The club has been flying at Langar since 1967 but model flying has taken place here since just after WWII. Check out the club and airfields history. HERE
