‘Grey’ Imports- a Warning

There are some ‘bargains’ to be got on Ebay and some of the far Eastern websites in 2.4 Radio Transmitters.  Beware, some of these are coming in at 200mw power while the UK is limited by law to 100mw. Even transmitters with a CE sticker on them have been found to be illegal. Use of these transmitters can invalidate your insurance!  Buying from these sources is fraught with danger, as well as the Tx possibly being illegal, any warranty is likely to be useless.  Repairs to these Transmitters will not be undertaken by any of the main suppliers or repair shops.  It is also up to you to prove that the Tx is UK legal.  I can only emphasise that the best option by far is to buy from a UK supplier, who is then responsible for compliance.

Intro to the Club
Nottingham Radio Control Society is a club dedicated to the building and flying of radio controlled model aircraft.
We are an affiliated club of the British Model Flying Association, (BMFA) and our flying site is at the southern end of Langar airfield on the Notts and Leics border.
The club has been flying at Langar since 1967 but model flying has taken place here since just after WWII. Check out the club and airfields history. HERE
