October Touch & Go - 5th October

Sunday 12th October turned out to be one of the best days of the year weatherwise, but having had to cancel the last three club competitions and postpone this one from the previous week, entrants were very low. The event consisted of completing as many touch & go’s as possible within 3 minutes, landing within the circles to score points.
First off was Steve Green with his electric Tuccano who managed 7 landings and several bulls-eyes to score 270 points. Next up was David Page with his ‘Ricochet’ Fun-fly, managing 10 circuits with a total score of 370 points. Next entrants were Dave Gent and Freddie Tregenna, both flying Tutor 40 trainers, and in a freshening wind found the spot landings more difficult. The second round proved to be more challenging in the windier conditions and nobody improved on their scores, leaving David Page the winner.
Results as follows;

1st David Page 370 points 10 points
2nd Steve Green 270 points 9 Points
3rd Dave Gent 90 points 8 Points
3rd Freddie Tregenna 70 points 7 Points

Limbo Event - 8th June

Results as follows:

1st Steve Green 10 points
2nd Chris Halliday 9 Points
3rd Dave Gent 8 Points
3rd Rex Leavesley 8 Points

Taxi And Fly Event - 4th May

' A cool grey May Bank Holiday welcomed the 8 competitors to the Taxi and Fly event organised by Kevin Belcher, who was the first to fly and show us how it should be done. After taxiing round the tyre and cone, a take-off was executed for the first part. The second part was to fly two circuits, one in each direction of at least 20 seconds duration, the difference in time taken to count as the score. Much to every-ones surprise, most competitors were able to judge this quite accurately. Chris Halliday once again struggled with the Taxi phase and finished 5th. Mick Wilson also was unhappy with the conditions and slipped to 7th place. Newcomer Dave Gent was encouraged to take part on the 'buddy lead' and managed to taxi and fly the circuits, although opted out of the landing phase, Well Done Dave for taking part. Top dogs Steve Green and Kevin battled it out for 1st place and due to a complex scoring system the results took some time to be announced.  The winner Kevin Belcher denied that his scoring system was biased toward himself, putting Steve Green into 2nd place with another newcomer Andy Anscombe an excellent 3rd. Unfortunately your reporter forgot his camera so there are no pictures this time. Next Event in the Club Events series takes place on 8th JUNE entitled 'LIMBO'.  We wait with baited breath!
David Page.

Results as follows:

1st Kevin Belcher 10 Points
2nd Steve Green 9 Points
3rd Andy Anscombe 8 Points
4th Freddie Tregenna 7 Points
5th Chris Halliday 6 Points
6th Rex Leavesley 5 Points
7th Mick Wilson 4 Points
8th Dave Gent 3 Points

NRCS Annual Fly-In

Every year, Nottingham Radio Control Society host an informal, friendly fly-in at which anyone can attend to fly. This event has been running for well over 6 years now, and it gets bigger and bigger every year.
Camping is available from Friday morning through to the following Monday. Water and toilets are also available on site along with food from a mobile caterer.
We also have a large marquee where we have evening entertainment along with a quiz and various spot prizes.

Why not come and fly with us for the next event in 2008?
The dates for all events will be posted here as soon as they have been set.

NRCS Annual Bonfire Event

For the last four years, NRCS have hosted a small gathering to celebrate bonfire night, or just another reason to get together and have a few laughs! After the success of the 2001 bonfire party, we decided to do it again. Hopefully we will be also hosting a similar event at the same time of year in the coming years.
We organise the event for the weekend nearest to Nov 5th so we are able to make a day of it with flying and a BBQ, weather permiting of course!

Why not come and fly and fly with us for our 2008 event?
The dates for all events will be posted here as soon as they have been set.
